Hey,
If any hasn't had a chance to read it, please check out Richards story - The Dragon's Breath. It's great!
Looking forward to more posting from our members.

Agreed - its been great to start reading all these great stories and remember the previous days of Star Shield. Now if only you guys would write faster and finish some of the story lines up instead of leaving me on a cliff wondering what is going to happen next!

Jason and I are working on a joint venture with the Isieans and the Archaens. In short they well be forming a military alliance, but could use more members -- hint, hint.

Yeah, it's great writing with some old friends again. I'm enjoying the stories immensely. Very exciting, Lowell and Jason. Who's next? Oh, and Lowell, the story is Stardragon, not the Dragon's Breath. lol

I just wanted to say that it's great to have Stellar as a contributing poster. For those new to StarScapes, both Stellar and Richard are veteran writers (a published one in Srtellar's case) and members of the old Starshield.
Both of them have significantly contributed to both the legacy and canon of the Starshield universe and I'm greatly excited to see what they have for us here in Starscapes.
Don't let them hog all the glory. Come on everyone -- start posting.
Lowell

Thanks, Lowell. I feel humbled by your comments. Hey, Stellar! Welcome to StarScapes. Good to see another of the old guard among our number. I'll have to check out your published stories if I can find them. I'd be really interested to see what you've come up with.

Sorry, but in regards to private tradenames, we have to be diligent with usage outside our control. Hence, please immediately cease and desist from using our registered tradename STARSCAPES. What has me consernd about this post is that they did not create a new topic for it nor did they send this go the admins directly. I've seen this kind of thing before that was in fact a scam. Add to that that we are not selling anything at all and anyone who took the time to look could see that. So I'll do some research on this and I suggest we all do incase one doesn't find anything to see if this is real or someone tring to take this board.

The guy is a scammer, and maybe we should report him for his intimidation tactics.
As for the names -- hold a poll and a vote?

I looked up this guys trademark, and it's listed as the below PROJECTOR FOR DISPLAYING A LIGHT PATTERN RESEMBLING THE NIGHT SKY and Painting in the field of residential and commercial ceilings
In those categories we do not fit, and by the rules that I've found :
Q.) Can I register the same company name as an existing trademark (letter for letter) as my own standard character mark, so as long as we're listed under different Goods and Services classes?
(A) Yes, only if your use of the characters is not likely to cause confusion (for the consumer) between your goods/services and those of the registered owner of the mark.
If for example you named your company apple and you sell computer equipment, you would likely have a problem registering the mark over the Apple computer company. If on the other hand you make apple pies, then you will be able to get a mark over the computer company because you operate in different spaces. So if you have different goods or services, you should be able to register your mark.
We make stories, not ceiling art of any kind. So there is no violation.
I was going through all the work we already did and I don't want to go back over and change everything. So if push comes to shove. His name is starscapes ours can be changed to Star Scapes two words. But even then, only if we have to. What does everyone think of that?

That solution sounds good to me. Easier to add a space than do a complete name change. If we did have to change our name I would vote for: Styraxian's Ultimate Playground

If his name is Starscapes we can be StarScapes, Star-Scapes, or Star Scapes.
I think he's just trying to intimidate us. I say we call his bluff, or make a minor change as Styraxian suggested.

It would be better if we didn't have to change the name of our page, but adding a space or a hyphen would be fine with me if needed. If a major change becomes necessary, I vote for Empires & Eternities. I even came up with a basic design for a logo, which I sent to Lowell. I'd hate to see all the hard work Lowell and Jason have put into the site go down the drain.
